  • 1A – Style of play featuring one spinning yoyo performing tricks on the string.
  • 2A – Style of play featuring two yoyos performing looping tricks.
  • 3A – Style of play featuring two spinning yoyos performing tricks on the string.
  • 4A – Style of play in which the yoyo is not attached to the string.
  • 5A – Style of play in which the string is not attached to the hand, but instead to a counterweight.

  • Bind – A maneuver to return an unresponsive yoyo to the hand.

  • Freehand – (1) The hand that the yoyo string is not attached to. (2) Style of play featuring a counterweight in place of a slip knot. See: 5A

  • Grind – A trick in which the yoyo rolls along a part of the body. See: Arm Grind

  • Nonthrowhand – The hand that the yoyo string is not attached to. See: Freehand

  • Unresponsive – A yoyo that will not return with a tug of the string.
